Common Dog Vaccinations
Below is a list of common dog vaccinations. Please note that Rabies Vaccinations are to be done at the Cayman Island’s Government Agriculture Department.
Distemper causes loss of appetite, vomiting, diarrhea, seizures, and blindness.
Another fatal, viral disease that causes infectious hepatitis, damaging the puppy’s liver. It spreads in places where large numbers of dogs are in close proximity, like pet shops. A persistent cough is the telltale sign of infection.
A highly contagious disease that affects the digestive system, weakens the immune system and damages the heart. It can be lethal in puppies born to unvaccinated mothers. Vaccination is given at 6 to 8 weeks of age.
Boarding kennels often require this vaccine within 6 months of boarding, given at least one week before the planned date for best results. It protects against bacteria causing respiratory signs like coughing, nasal discharge, and fever, with severe cases leading to pneumonia. Dogs in high-risk environments, like dog parks or grooming facilities, benefit from this vaccination. Kennel cough can be caused by other infectious organisms too.
Non-CORE Vaccine
Not Required for Cayman but required for international travel.
Initial vaccination is given as early as 3 months of age. This however will need to be done at the Agriculture Department.

Common Cat Vaccinations
Below is a list of common Cat vaccinations. Please note that Rabies Vaccinations are to be done at the Cayman Island’s Government Agriculture Department.
Also called “the feline distemper vaccine”; which protects against three feline viruses: Rhinotracheitis, Calicivirus and Panleukopenia
Also known as Feline Parvovirus, is a highly infectious disease with a high mortality rate in kittens. While the disease usually starts with decreased energy and low appetite, it progresses to vomiting and diarrhea. The virus also kills off the white blood cells, leaving the young cats even more susceptible to secondary infections.

FeLV is a global virus transmitted through bodily fluids like saliva, urine, and feces, mainly through close contact between infected and uninfected cats. Some cats may stay healthy throughout their lives, but for others, the disease can progress to serious conditions like lymphoma, anemia, or immunosuppression. Vaccination is recommended for kittens, involving two initial doses, three to four weeks apart, followed by a re-vaccination after one year.

Our Process
When you book an at-home visit, our mobile vet and technician will come to examine your pet. The doctor will review your pet’s history and decide on the appropriate vaccine plan before administering any shots. We suggest having a Pet Wellness Exam at least once a year.
