Benefits for an At Home Pet Ultrasound
Ultrasound is a non-invasive diagnostic procedure that uses sound waves to create images of the organs and structures inside the body. It is recommended for various reasons, such as chronic vomiting or diarrhea, urinary issues, heart murmurs, or general unwellness.
Our Process
During the procedure, pets are usually fasted for 12 hours to improve image quality. The veterinarian and trained veterinary technologist work together to obtain clear images by applying coupling gel to the clipped hair on the pet’s body. The images are saved and reviewed later, with a detailed report of the results within 24-48 hours.
The advantages of in-home ultrasound include non-invasiveness, comfort for pets, and the ability to obtain rapid and accurate diagnoses. It allows for a comprehensive examination of the chest, abdomen, organs, vasculature, and lymph nodes, and even enables ultrasound-guided samples if needed.
While ultrasound provides valuable insights, it may not always provide a definitive diagnosis, and further diagnostic tests may be necessary.
