What does Pet Microchipping do?
If a lost pet is found and taken to a facility with a microchip scanner, the scanner will read the pet’s microchip number, and the facility can then contact the owner using the information in the database. This greatly increases the chances of a lost pet being reunited with its family.
Microchipping is a simple and relatively painless procedure that provides pet owners with peace of mind, knowing that their pet has an extra layer of protection in case they ever become separated. It is a responsible and proactive step towards ensuring the safety and security of pets, treating them as part of the family and minimizing the devastating experience of losing a pet.
Our Process
Microchipping involves inserting a tiny electronic chip, about the size of a grain of rice, under the pet’s skin, typically between the shoulder blades. This chip contains a unique identification number that can be scanned by most veterinarians, animal shelters, pounds, and the Humane Society. The identification number is linked to the owner’s contact information in a national pet registry database.
Nearly 40% of pet owners never register their pets after they are microchipped because the registration process is manual.
Our integration will make sure that every microchip is automatically registered without requiring our clients to get involved. All of the pets that were microchipped that day will be registered that night, and we receive a confirmation the following morning.
